Child's play
I'm back!
After being away for a while from the blog. Mainly due to other project commitments which needed some much T.L.C.
Good news is that I just started a new sketchbook, and I'll make a better effort to finishing this in a month's time! Hope I can make it too!
Anyway, take care, and stay tuned for more drawings!

Flying machine
Hey, look up there! Is it a BIRD? Is it a PLANE? No its... an weird flying machine.
I'm soon done with my 2nd sketchbook, although I didn't reach the goal of finishing 1 book a month, I'm still super chuffed by starting a new one soon!:D

Apocalyptic Wanderer
Another sketch, this one a apocalyptic/Mad Max inspired. I finished it last night and thought of coloring it, but I liked the black and white look, so I left it;)

Mr Fox
I love foxes, and wanted to draw a more refined sketch. I think I'm slowly getting more comfortable using colors again in my drawings! Definitely will continue this;)
Banshee
Usually called "Women of the Barrows", the Irish connected these wailing spirits to a oncoming death of a member in the family.
I guess I kinda went total monster on this one... oh well, I'm still quit happy with the sketch;)

Naiad
A Naiad, from the Greek mythos. These water nymphs resided in springs, brooks and fresh water areas. They walked a two edged sword, sometimes jealous, other times spiteful and vengeful creatures.
Maybe I'll color this one later!

Little "Bad" Riding Hood
I could be better at posting more often, but had a hard time finding some inspiration. I found drawing with themes could help. I always loved dark fairy tales, so I give you Little Red Riding Hood (not so little)!
This week will be a bit hard, as I'll be attending ITFS (Stuttgart Animation Festival), but I'll see if I cannot bring my sketchbook with me, and so draw in any downtime I get!

Moritz & The Mouse
Here is a little sneak peek of the short animated sketch I'm working on. To think I've worked on this (on and off) for about a year is just insane , but I'm soon finished with it and I've learned a lot in the process.
The idea was initially to do a walkcycle with Moritz the Elephant, but it grew to a whole new monster... anyway, here is a small WIP

Movie night!
So me and my friends went to see 2 films last night, High - Rise and The Lobster.
The first of which I had a lot of expectations too, and the latter one in which I didn't. I came away in the evening with my expectations trashed, but pleasantly surprised by The Lobster.
Although I wouldn't recommend either of the films for a 2nd viewing, I would choose The Lobster over High- Rise any day.
The Lobster has it's humanity in it's outlandish setting, it pulls you in with moments of comedy and tenderness between the two lead characters.
High - Rise, I felt tried to be too much, and nothing altogether. It's pacing inconsistent, characters unsympathetic and un - relatable. I just found it quit pretentious and boring.

Samurai
"In the winters hell the lonely warrior wandered... seeking vengeance. Only the solace of knowing that her master would soon find peace, after she's finished with his killers."
Character Study 9
Here are some more character doodles I cleaned up! I've been doing a few characters as vikings lately... maybe it's my Norwegian blood speaking:P

Late night animating!
Meet Moritz, a happy-go-lucky elephant I've been working on for (some might say) too long. I love to find new ways to improve myself as an animator, and through this little skit I've been working on, I've learned TONS, both in technical and acting wise!
I'll post little WIPs as I go, so stay tuned for more Moritz.

Birthday gift!!
A big thanks to my friend and collegue, Justine Klaiber for this awesome picture she painted for my birthday!:) It has everything I love, Owls and Steampunk!
Who can ask for a better gift then that!
You can check out more of her work HERE. She's a great talent!

I'm back!!:D
Hi!
I'm back after a little break from uploading sketches for the blog! I had to priorities other projects, plus my friend came to visit me in Germany, which was all kinds of awesome!
It doesn't mean I stopped drawing though, and thus I've got some awesome news... I plan to finish 1 sketchbook a month. A goal which is equally daunting and exciting! This also means more sketches, and more uploads! So stay tuned!
Anyway, to kick it off again:
