Hey! It's been a while since I last posted something, but I have been busy working on my children's series concept, and hopefully the project will see the light of day (I need to concentrate on the scriptwriting) I am pretty sure I will change some of the scenes in this intro as well, but I wanted to finish the animation anyway.:) I uploaded the video in high definition so if you want to watch it on good quality, just click on the HD button. Enjoy!

Orville og Otto House
I wanted to add another background layout, this one depicting our characters house under the Big "Red-Tree". I'm also going to make an interior design in color before starting on the animated trailer.

Orville run test
Its been awhile since I last posted, but I've been a little busy, working on my childrens series, and trying to find any company support. But anyways, since I hadnt posted any animations lately (recent posts are designs and layout work), so I wanted to put this up.
This is a short run cycle which I did with one of my characters, Orville.

Background layouts
I'm gonna start creating different background layouts for my short-film. To create the right tone and atmosphere in the environment the characters are going to interact in. I'm thinking of going with a more norwegian woods influence, Hence the birch trees, dark, dense colors. Stay tuned more to come :)
I DO feel that this one maybe has too much detail, and I might experiment something with fewer lines and abstract.

Falcon colorsketches
I wanted to make a few color palettes for my falcon sketches (He's going to be one of the main characters for my upcoming film) I want to keep the falcon fairly predatory without any human traits.

Just wanted to show some of the work I've done for a animation company in Oslo! The Hubert character isn't mine, but I animated the sequence.

Character: Worm color pallet
Heres a color pallet of my other character, the worm, in my upcoming short-film. I'm thinking about going with the top right, I think it has a nice natural color, and not so overly "cartoony" look.

Green Beaked Horn Owl
Here is the final outcome of weeks of character design. I had the face ready from the last post, and I had to add body to the face. In the end I made a Turnaround view of the owl.

Owl color and face test
A final color compilation for my short film I'm working on, "Early Bird Gets the Worm". It also gave me a good idea of how the preferred face of the owl would look like. After conferring with my friends (and myself of course), I picked the light green head, last one to the right on the bottom page. It got the right color, eyes, ears, volume etc..

Okey so this is just a short sketch on how the website could be. The main menu is in the foreground (orange) And the lines in the bakground is gonna be where you can watch the buttons (messageboards, contact info etc..) So whenever you click on the buttons on the main menu, it'll take you to the behind menus (zooming in and out)
The lower two sketches are basically the same idea, but only different colors

I've been working for Kool Produksjon, an animation company in Oslo, for about 4-5 months, and I just wanted to show you some of the things I've been working on with the animators. These are all clips from the children's series "Hubert:
These are clips from a music video called "Monster", where the scene takes place in Hollywood, and on movie sets.
Scene 1: I had to draw big expensive Hollywood mansions in the backgrounds, where all the stars and rich people lived. The Characters in this scene were animated by other animators.
Scene 2: I animated two of the characters, the SOUND GUY and the GUY with the FILM CLAPPER.
Scene 3: In this scene I had to animate Hubert and his bullies trip over the director. I had to make the scene dynamic and the director had to look very angry.

Hubert Japan design
The company I work for asked me if I could design something for a new musicvideo which takes place in one of the episodes of "Hubert", the children series. The whole video took place in japan, and I had to design something respectively. Here are some of them.

Intro
I was given the task of creating an intro for a new children series. The monkey loves to dance, a mixture of James Brown, and John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

Showreel 2007/08
Okey, I wasnt too happy with my past showreel, so I came up with the idea of combining some of my work, from 2007 to 08, and I was also told to be as critical as possible, and keep the length to be 1 -2 min.
Showreel Updated:13th july, 2008
Shot Breakdowns:
- "Thief": A flash movie I made as a personal project. The whole idea was to make an animation, with thorough character animation. To give the character a personality and comedic physical movements. The whole film is animated straight from flash. Its a about a thief who, without luck is trying to steal a red rube.
-"My precious work": Made in Flash. A animation I as an exercise my skills in acting with the help of a movie dialog.
-"The Dentist": Made in Flash. As a University project, we had to make an animation with the help of two sound files. I picked "heavy breathing" and "drill", and made a short of a guy whom waits (with dread) in the dentist room.
-"Im fat": Made in Flash. A animation I as an exercise my skills in acting with the help of a movie dialog.
-"Water Water": My minor university project, which explores the contrast in water, both the tranquil and the force of the element. Its hand-drawn with charcoal, scanned, cut in photoshop and edited in After Effects and Final Cut.
-" Cycle of Life: My Major film, which explores the human life, from birth until death. We follow our protagonist where he goes through many stages in life. Its hand-drawn with charcoal, scanned, cut in photoshop and edited in After Effects and Final Cut.

Animated Short "Thief"
Okay, this is a short I made called Thief, in flash. It´s basically about a thief whom has his eyes set on stealing a red diamond in a museum. Now thats said, I started out with this short with the intention of making it longer or at least with a better ending. Other projects came in the way however and I had to finish this up pretty quickly,(hens such an abrupt ending). Thus I came to the conclusion of making this a character animation study, and therefor spent longer time on character movements and design.
In the end, It kinda became a homage to the old pink panther animations so, I hope you enjoy.

Although I wont animate for this months 11 sec. club competition, but I was gonna use rats as characters for the dialog and scene. So heres a sketch of the three characters.;)

Wanted to study the movements of the Thief. Stretch and Squash, and particle movements such as hair and cape.
A few stills from my personal project called "Thief". About a museum thief trying to steal a diamond. It will probably be more of a character study then a animation with solid story;)I have also added a few rough character sketches and drawings

Showreel 2007 and Cycle of Life
Its called Cycle of Life and chronicles the life and death of a human being, through the perspective of a soap bubble. The bubble (representing the fragility of a human life) floats through a dying mans memory, chronicling ceremonial events, before arriving at its final destination along with the protagonist, as he takes his last breath.

First Post
This is my first post so, here are some of my films which I made during my years at University.
First film is called water, water and the other one cycle of life.
Water Water: The film chronicles the story between a daughter and her father, where the element of WATER is a central point. The viewer gets a chance to see both contrasting sides to water, and also what water means for our protagonists in the story. I made this film as tribute/inspiration from Micheal Dudok De Wits, "Father Daughter".
