Little "Bad" Riding Hood

I could be better at posting more often, but had a hard time finding some inspiration. I found drawing with themes could help. I always loved dark fairy tales, so I give you Little Red Riding Hood (not so little)!

This week will be a bit hard, as I'll be attending ITFS (Stuttgart Animation Festival), but I'll see if I cannot bring my sketchbook with me, and so draw in any downtime I get!

SPIDERMAN, SPIDERMAN does whatever a spider can!

I thought of creating a more stylized version of our beloved hero, but had some hard time with getting his suit right.

Ps: I'm a little ill at the moment, battling the cursed hay fever. But I try to keep the new artwork coming...

Moritz & The Mouse

Here is a little sneak peek of the short animated sketch I'm working on. To think I've worked on this (on and off) for about a year is just insane , but I'm soon finished with it and I've learned a lot in the process.

The idea was initially to do a walkcycle with Moritz the Elephant, but it grew to a whole new monster... anyway, here is a small WIP

Movie night!

So me and my friends went to see 2 films last night, High - Rise and The Lobster.

The first of which I had a lot of expectations too, and the latter one in which I didn't. I came away in the evening with my expectations trashed, but pleasantly surprised by The Lobster.

Although I wouldn't recommend either of the films for a 2nd viewing, I would choose The Lobster over High- Rise any day.

The Lobster has it's humanity in it's outlandish setting, it pulls you in with moments of comedy and tenderness between the two lead characters.

High - Rise, I felt tried to be too much, and nothing altogether. It's pacing inconsistent, characters unsympathetic and un - relatable. I just found it quit pretentious and boring.

Doodle day again!:D

Some quick Saturday sketches. I'm totally a cat person but they're a bunch of selfish A*holes...
Maybe I should combine these two drawings and make a Steampunk cat!:D

Samurai

"In the winters hell the lonely warrior wandered... seeking vengeance. Only the solace of knowing that her master would soon find peace, after she's finished with his killers."

Character Study 9

Here are some more character doodles I cleaned up! I've been doing a few characters as vikings lately... maybe it's my Norwegian blood speaking:P

Character study 8

Doodle time! I love doing these, they really help to free up the ol' creative block and forces you to try out new character shapes and lines!

Late night animating!

Meet Moritz, a happy-go-lucky elephant I've been working on for (some might say) too long. I love to find new ways to improve myself as an animator, and through this little skit I've been working on, I've learned TONS, both in technical and acting wise!

I'll post little WIPs as I go, so stay tuned for more Moritz.

Birthday gift!!

A big thanks to my friend and collegue, Justine Klaiber for this awesome picture she painted for my birthday!:) It has everything I love, Owls and Steampunk!

Who can ask for a better gift then that!

You can check out more of her work HERE. She's a great talent!
